I was born and raised in Guayaquil, Ecuador, in close relationship with my family. One way or another, my family had always been involved in textiles for generations.
At the age of sixteen, I attended a boarding school in Villars-sur-Ollon, a small town very different from home, where I stayed until my graduation in 2010. I had always been a visual person, and it was only natural to follow the creative path.
I attended the Savannah College of Art and Design for four years, where I studied industrial design. There, my passion for textiles sparked out of inquisitiveness and evolved with curiosity; the more I discovered, the more I wanted to understand.
Around this time, I had the opportunity to do a quarter in Hong Kong, as well as interning at Sorste, a garment factory in Romania. This opening gave a great deal of insight into the many directions I still had to grow to move forward along my career path. During this period, I learned to transform ideas into tangible, practical concepts.
I decided to further my education and knowledge of the textile industry, which led me to North Carolina State University, where I graduated in 2018 with a Master of Textile concentrating in Technology Management. I worked in North Carolina for over a year and gained first-hand experience in the industry. Currently, I reside in Spain with my new family.
